The patented foot pedal Lid Lifta® was designed specifically for industrial use and continues to be widely used within hospitals, medical and dental surgeries, laboratories, aged care facilities, mortuaries, clinics and other related health institutions since its introduction to industry by Wrightway Products in 1996. All bins are available with or without the Lid Lifta foot pedal.

Waste from Health-care facilities (not General Waste) eg: blood; body parts.

  • Clinical Waste  ... Disposal by Incineration or Sterilization prior to Registered Landfill
  • Infectious Waste  ... Disposal by Incineration
  • Anatomical Waste ... Disposal by Incineration
  • Cytotoxic Waste ... Disposal by Incineration
  • Pharmaceutical Waste (Expired, partially dispensed, expired drugs) ... Disposal by Incineration

KEY TO COMMON USE OF COLOURS WITHIN THE MEDICAL INDUSTRY:

YELLOW:

Clinical Waste; Pathological Waste; Infectious Waste:

Waste which requires treatment or disposal by incineration in a suitably permitted or licensed facility.

ORANGE:

Waste which may be "treated" at a suitably permitted licensed facility to be "rendered safe" or be disposed of by incineration.

PURPLE:

Cytotoxic and cytostatic waste.

Treatment/disposal required is incineration in a suitably permitted or licensed facility.

YELLOW BODY/BLACK LID:

Offensive/hygiene waste.

Treatment/disposal required is landfill in a suitably permitted or licensed site. This waste should not be compacted in unlicensed facilities.
